Laravel Forge is an all-encompassing solution for server management, site hosting, and source code management. It streamlines the deployment process, making it efficient and hassle-free. Pricing is also super competitive, for example, one could get single server for unlimited sites, in which case the pricing tier is just $12 per month for unlimited applications.

We recommend signing up for Laravel Forge directly when you are ready to deploy, as Forge is not a reselling service. We can configure our Forge instance for another tenant, but security wise and control wise you probably want to simply pay the $12.
In terms of servers, we recommend the “bring your own” option, particularly if you require a low latency server. For example, we have low latency servers in South Africa and Germany with universal pricing as indicated below. A local server ensure super fast and reliable access for your users. For “bring your own” deployments, we recommend using Ubuntu 22.04 as the preferred operating system as of 2024, which you can learn more about here.
Vander Host provides various tiers of Ubuntu 22.04 servers, starting at just R 149 per month. These servers are priced based on CPU, memory (RAM), and hard drive size. Here are some of our server tiers*:
- R 149 per month: 1 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB hard drive
- R 299 per month: 2 CPU, 2 GB RAM, 80 GB hard drive
- R 559 per month: 3 CPU, 4 GB RAM, 150 GB hard drive

While the first-tier server may suffice for Laravel applications, we often recommend the 2-CPU option for improved performance.
In summary, your monthly cost will be:
- R 299 per month for the server
- $12 per month (approximately R 227 as of 25 January 2024)
- Total approximately R 526 per month.
You also have the option to start with the basic server, reducing your monthly cost to R 149 for the Ubuntu server. It’s worth noting that upgrading to a higher-tier server is quick and easy, although downgrading is not possible due to disk size limitations.
Opting for your own Forge installation provides you with greater security and control over your server and source code. While you could technically use our Forge installation and become a “tenant,” this means we would have complete control over your server and source code. If security is a top priority, we recommend paying the $12 per month to have your own installation.
Please be aware that even if you decide to pursue your own Forge installation, we will still require the initial passwords for the setup. Once the setup is complete, we can assist a network administrator with changing them.
